Futsal is being represented by 14 individual futsal teams from
throughout the state who qualified to participate in the 2007 USFF Northeast / Mid Atlantic Regional
Championships scheduled for this weekend Saturday thru Monday, February 17 - 19, 2007
/ President's Day Weekend. Team categories represented
include under 10 girls on up to under 14 girls and under 10 boys on up
to Men's Open.
The USFF comprises some 70,000 athletes nationwide and the Northeast /
Mid-Atlantic regional tournament is the most prestigious of its type
catering to youth athletes as well as adult athletes in this part of the
United States. Successful teams will qualify for invitations to
the 22nd annual U.S. Futsal National Championships which will be held in
Anaheim, California in July.
Massachusetts has experienced a great deal of growth in the sport
in recent years and represents New England as that state with the
largest level of participation. Sending 14 teams to the regional
championship games is quite an accomplishment and wish our teams all the
success they deserve at the games.
