10/27/2005: Massachusetts Futsal Association announces sanctioning of Boston Futsal

The Massachusetts Futsal Association (MFA) announces today that it has received acceptance by the United States Futsal Federation, (USFF), of the MFA's official endorsement of the Boston Futsal League's application for sanctioning by the USFF with all the rights and privilege to use the trademarked Futsal name and logos as an official Futsal (five-a-side) League and to participate in the USFF sponsored annual Massachusetts Futsal State Cup, Regional and National Futsal Championships. 

The Boston Futsal League shall initially comprise of programs and competitions located in three different communities.  Chelsea, Newton and Revere Massachusetts will play host to the first year of operation for the Boston Futsal League.

League Directors Sid Mazzola, Carlos Cenfuentes and Cesar Salazar provide  varying degrees of experience and successes in the local soccer and futsal world.  All are committed to work hard to raise the level of interest of Futsal in the greater Boston metropolitan area and will do so as an affiliate of New England Futsal as sanctioned by the United States Futsal Federation.

USFF sanctioned programs within the state of Massachusetts as of this date comprise:

Boston Futsal League
Catholic Youth Futsal League

Chelsea Futsal League
Essex County Futsal League
Greater Fall River Futsal League
New England Futsal Academy
Norfolk County Futsal League

The Massachusetts Futsal Association is the local representative of the United States Futsal Federation (USFF), which under the banner of United States Soccer, is the national governing body for Futsal in the United States.

Futsal is the only international form of indoor soccer approved by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
